Having been ‘accepted’ in Harlem was a great achievement. Stevie Wonder’s drummer was most supportive of Rahul’s playing saying, "Man, for an Indian, how come you play Blues like that!’ Thinking on his feet, and with a somewhat perplexed stare, blurted, "Er, Blues is an international language of music, sir…!" Well, after many late-night intense sessions with revered tribute to Jimi Hendrix’s music, Rahul was welcomed to homes in Harlem, visiting the clubs with his new found musician friends, and sampling home-cooked African American food.
