MR.SANJEEV PANDKAR. Guitarist, Drummer, Vocalist. 
• Your first step into music ?
  When i was in 10th standard, I started listening to music and then I started singing from about between 12th standard and 1st year.
•  Since how many years are you into music?
  It has been almost about 15-16 years into music.
•  Milestones in your music career ?
  I joined as a vocalist in X'OST band,Pune for the first time(1980's).Then joined as a vocalist in a band called EZZE MEAT in 1991. Was a vocalist in a band called HOOK in 1992.Started playing drums since 10 years. Joined into MYSTIC FROST band for almost about 2 years. Also I was into a band called FUSION-EN-SEMBLE and STRANGE BREW.
•  Music a passion or an obsession ?
  Well, music was an obsession firstly and then it became a passion. Before i knew much of music, it was an obsession to learn and now its a passion.
•  Who what became your inspiration in music ?
  Nothing as such was like my inspiration. Nothing inspired me but when in class 10th I heard some western music and I really liked the way it was done.
•  Do you belong from a family with a background in music ?
  No.
•  What instruments do you play ?
 

I play the guitar, the drums, Piano, bass, the keyboard and a little bit of indian bass flute.
•  When the technology has been changing,what have been the changes in music then at the time before
now ?
  We don't get good instruments now. Things are a lot more easier now. In our times, we had to struggle a lot to learn but now you can have music classes and learn music even from the internet.We had to breakdown our heads to think and learn music in our times. I am a self-taught person. Earlier, music was good, now a days music is not raw, it's all synthetic now. There's no originality.
•  What would be your alternate career option ?
  I had been into marketing in early times. I am a M.Com graduate, was not interested in academics, I just focused over music.
•  Have you been a student of music ?
  No, no one taught me music. I learned it all by myself, I am a self-taught man.
•  Any National / International projects in your bag ?
  Yes, we had made two albums in the past. Both of them were self-releases.
•  Any favorite bands of yours ?
  No favorite bands as such. In earlier days,we used to hear western music but your taste changes as you grow so no favorites for me.
•  Which band are you currently into ?
  I recently was with a band called WASAVI FUSION and a band called NEW BREED, both bands are the bands of my music students.
•  Do you perform live ?
  Yes, I have done many live performances which were very successful. I have performed in Pune ,Bombay and Goa also.
•  How did u get into a band for the first time ?
  Actually in 12th standard, my brother used to play the guitar and since everybody knew that i was a good singer, we had a guy playing the drums, a bass player and my brother as a guitarist, so we thought of forming a band and we started off like that. We did about 26 shows all over in Pune, Bombay and Goa until the band broke up.
•  So you started your career as... ?
  As a vocalist. I used to sing, then I learned the guitar and drums.
•  Are there any negative points of being into music ?
  It is very personal. I mean, it differs from person to person. It is like a phase, it passes away. The thing is that music takes much time to understand and takes a lot of effort and hard work.
•  You run a music class. So what made you start your music class ?
  Well, whatever i have learnt, I feel that I should share it with someone. If you don't share, you don't get anything. Its all a waste if u don't share. So i started music classes and I enjoy teaching music. I teach more Practical-oriented. Music is all about Expressing.
•  Tell me more about your music classes ?
  Today people don't have entertainment, there's nothing creative to do.So music is both creative and Entertainment. I haven't commercialised my classes. I don't want much crowd so I don't give any ads or even I don't have any banners/ board of my classes. I don't want to make it commercialized. All my students come by word of mouth. I do it as like a social service, its a social cause. I don't count numbers, don't count my students. I teach music to students of any age group.
•  Since how long have you been into teaching music ?
  It has been 6 years into teaching music.I enjoy teaching, teaching is fun.
•  What all instruments do you teach ?
  I teach Guitar,drums,bass.
• 
What do you feel about the music in Pune ?
Its just going on. It will take some time, may be 20 years to learn rock music. People should start learning good music from 1st standard. There's no original music nowadays. Its all from here and there and everything is synthesized. All drums, guitars, flutes are pre-recorded over the keyboard and its played. Can,t hear drums played originally now. All is synthesized, no actual playing.
•  What about the music scenario in India ?
  There's no quality music in India Lets wait and watch. Changes will come only if the listener's attitude changes. If people want to hear quality music, its demand will increase and then automatically good music will come to India. People in India need an attitude change. If people will ask for good quality original music, that kind of music will definitely develop.
•  Do your students perform with bands ?
  My students are in many of the bands like UNBOUND, NEMESIS, KHADKI JUNCTION BLUESand they have their own bands called WASAVI FUSION and NEW BREED.
•  There's is a high competition in the music industry these days.What do you think about it ?
  There's no competition as such in music here. There are only some few people in music and if you produce some good stuff, your work will be appreciated. In today's music albums, only 1 song is good and the rest are just anything. There is no competition for good music here.
•  What would be your greatest achievement till date ?
  Hmm ..greatest achievement would be the respect I get from people. People respect me for what I have done, what I am doing and where I stand right now. They know me and they respect me for what I am. That's my greatest achievement, the respect.
•  Any experiences you would like to share with us ?
  Yes. I have had many good experiences and some bitter ones also. Right now music is very challenging so just have to work hard to achieve what you want to achieve. It is all a pains and gains journey, no gain without pain.
•  What would be your ultimate aim in life ?
  I want to open a big proper music school. I will get some big place and then I will start a big music school. It will take some time. I also want to perform many albums.
•  Do you compose music and lyrics both ?
  I compose music but I don't write lyrics.
