THE PHOENIX PHILOSOPHY
With it’s origins in Minneapolis, The Phoenix Philosophy started off in the year 2007 with Jesse (vocals, guitar, keyboard), Brandon (guitar, vocals), Sam (bass, vocals) and Ketan (drums, vocals). Their newest project involves the five-track EP called A Sweeter Side of Departure. With a fast growing internet fan base, they seem to be doing quite well for a band that just released their first EP.
Their CD is packed with a very contemporary pop-rock-ish sound whose prevalance can be noted in the very first track ‘I Don’t Wanna Come Down’. The rest of the songs blend in with the entire package with ‘Burning Romantic’ being one of the catchier tracks. Their usage of electronics is something that’s coming up with a lot of new bands. Although their lyrics don’t do them much justice, their songs are fun and upbeat. Whether you’re driving to work or in the shower, their stuff does a good job of putting you in a good mood. So if you’re into the likes of Fall Out Boy, Good Charlotte, Boys Like Girls and The All American Rejects, this band pretty much does it.
